Top Ten Tuesdays Part One: Best Books

Hello! This will be my first addition of Top Ten Tuesdays and this one will be my top ten books! This list will have both series and stand alones on this list because I can't just choose one book in a series. This list is not in any particular order, but I do absolutely adore the books closer to one. Without further ado, let's get started!

10) Whisper by Phoebe Kitanidis: I loved this book. It was unlike anything I had ever read so far and I found it really interesting. It only has a 3.66 rating on Good Reads, but I think it deserves more than that. Sure, there are some parts that are annoying or irritating, but it was still really entertaining. There is supposed to be a second book, I think, and I can't wait until it is out because I would most definitely read it (Come on Phoebe, it's been four years, get that second book out). I really liked the love interest, too (even though I forgot his name and hated his brother), but their relationship wasn't developed to the point I wanted it to be by the end of the book, they were only just getting together. Overall, I really liked it and that is why it is in my top ten!

9) Divergent by Veronica Roth: I didn't really care for the first book. I found the writing style too straight forward and not very descriptive, but I got used to it and I did like the story (especially Four), but found some of Tris's actions annoying. I liked Insurgent a whole lot more than the first book, though. I think it's because I was used to the world and the characters and the writing style and I just enjoyed it more. I actually think that Whisper should be in front of this series since I didn't even finish Allegiant (though I want to), but since these are in no particular order, I'm not going to worry about it.

8)  Restoration Series by Terri Blackstock: I LOVE THIS SERIES. It's a quartet and I can't even express my love of these books. I want to reread them so bad, but I don't have my own set and I have a bunch of other things I need to read. This is a Christian fiction series, but it doesn't really seem like it when you are reading. Of course there are parts where the family talks about God and the Bible and things like that, but screaming the Gospel to you. This book is a post apocalyptic (sort of) book where and EMP has knocked out everything so the world is back to square one. No washing machines, no indoor plumbing, no going to McDonald's or Walmart and the main family is trying to stick with their faith and survive. And Deni and Mark's relationship is so cute (and Mark is just... I can't even right now). I recommend it to everyone, I've talked about it before. The third one is my favorite and I just love it! READ IT!

7) Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl: Unlike a lot of book readers I am aware of, I really like Beautiful Creatures. The only book in the series that I don't like is Beautiful Darkness. I really like how the last book was written because it touched on a very controversial topic and the authors handled it well. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone just because not everyone is in love with it.

6) The Gone Series by Michael Grant: This series takes you on a wild ride. It's got all sorts of stuff and it's very hard to describe and each book gets weirder and weirder. These books handle VERY controversial subjects, but I love them regardless. These series is kind of my guilty pleasure series. In the first book, everyone over fifteen goes missing and the town is surrounded by a dome that is impossible to get through and as the children are trying to survive without parents and older people and trying to create some sort of working system, they discover that some of them have powers. These books have so many twists and turns and the "big" death at the end of the last book made me cry so hard. I recommend these books to people that can handle weird things and are open to a lot of opinions.

*The cover is SO ugly, though!

Now here are the best of the best of this list... THE TOP FIVE!

5) Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout: My love for this book goes light years beyond any other. This book is about aliens, but written in the style of a contemporary and it's just great and if you haven't read it, go read it right now. I want to move on with the rest of the series, but I can't because I don't have money to buy the rest. I only got Obsidian because it was free!

4) The Fault In Our Stars by John Green: A top ten list would not be complete without TFIOS! I don't think I need to explain why I love it and I know people are aggravated that it's on everyone's list, but it deserves that spot there. I saw nothing wrong. Maybe if I reread it, I would notice a few things, but I'm not going to because, right now, it's perfect in my eyes. DFTBA!

3) The Mortal Instruments Series and the Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare: I just grouped these two together because I love them both and it's a way of cheating to have them all of the list but to have room for others. I love these books just as much as everyone else and I can't wait until her new series comes out. If I had to pick from Jace, Jem, or Will, or Simon, I would most definitely pick Will with Jem and Simon tied in second and then Jace. Don't get me wrong, I love Jace, I just think I would get along with Simon better and Jem is just such a gentleman but can also have some characteristics of Jace and Will.

* I feel like this is such an awkward cover. My dad would have a heart attack if he saw me reading this book
Will, darling!

2) The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: This book... I just cannot. It's so hard for me to express my love for books that I REALLY love. I have trouble explaining why I like them so much. I am aware that this book has so many problems, especially with the romance, but I still love it no matter what. I cannot wait to get my hands on that last book!

1) The Darkest Minds Trilogy by Alexandra Bracken: I am sure that you are tired of hearing me talk about this book, but I am going to continue forever. I cannot wait for In the Afterlight, but I am also really sad because it will be the end.

If it were not Top Ten Tuesday I would have also added these books to the list:
The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu
The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
Anything by Rick Riordan
Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
Enclave Series by Ann Aguirre

There it is! My first Top Ten Tuesday! I hope you all enjoyed and I may or may not (I probably will) make an announcement on Friday or Saturday of what the next Top Ten Tuesday topic will be! If you agree with anything or have anything to say, please comment and I will see you soon with another post!
