Top Ten Tuesday Part Two: Book Boyfriends

Here is my second installment of Top Ten Tuesday! I announced a few days ago that it would be book boyfriends which can be different for so many different people! So here is my list and I would love it if you were to leave yours in the comments so we can compare and gush and the guys of YA fiction. I did try to put these in order and I think I did a pretty accurate job.

10) Blue from the Enemy by Charlie Higson
I don't exactly know why I love Blue so much. I did NOT like Blue the first half of the book and I had strong feelings why, but as it go into the second half of the book, I just started to like Blue for no reason. I think that he became a nicer person (perhaps?) the second part of the book. The rest of the characters on this list have reasons, but Blue doesn't. He's just always kind of been one of those characters that stuck with me.

9) Braith from Captured by Erica Stevens
As you know, I recently finished this book and had some issues with Braith, and that is why he is number nine. He was going to be number ten, but then I remembered that Blue had to be on the list, so Braith got moved up. I loved how Braith was so sweet to Aria and did anything that he thought would help her. He got angry, yeah, it happens, but even though he was mad, he still stopped Aria from hurting herself (those who have read it know exactly what I am talking about). Braith was also ready to do anything who could so that they could stay together, though he kind of forgot to mention that one plot twist. URRRRHHHHH! I need the second book right now! Braith is just super sweet and caring and strong (cause of the whole vampire thing he's go going on) and protective (some might argue overly), but I love Braith all the same.

8) David Stark from Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
You spend a good portion of Rebel Belle hating David because Harper does, but you know in the end that they will be together. I always loved David's personality. I think it's hilarious how he likes Harper and is sweet to her and then remembers that they are supposed to be enemies and throws a rude comment at her. I also love how he's not super macho. Usually in YA if the girl was in the position to protect the guy, the guy would be like, "No, I got this," and then die because he thought he could handle the situation and David isn't like that. He doesn't care that Harper is taking care of business while he just hangs out, waiting for her to be done and helps if she needs it. I also think it's amazing how learns what he is and doesn't really become depressed about it or upset about it for too long. David just has so many great qualities that it's ridiculous and I read the book awhile ago, so I'm sure I can't remember all of them.

7) Peeta Mellark from the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Oh, Peeta. Feel free to bake me a cake any day. Just be light on the frosting. I can't forget about Peeta, can I? Peeta, my first book crush. Peeta was always so sweet and smart. Whenever Katniss would do something stupid, he didn't rub the fact in her face, he didn't care, he just wanted to help her recover from the aftermath. Peeta saw Katniss's weaknesses and saw some of them in his strength and helped her out, though he could have let her fall on her face. And, of course Peeta bakes which is awesome. The only thing I have ever been able to make from scratch that was good was cookies. And he's an artist which is so cool. Peeta is just amazing and of course he's played by Josh Hutcherson in the movies, so that helps.

6) Maxon Shreave from the Selection by Kiera Cass
The prince! Maxon is just awesome. I mean, first of all, his name is FREAKING cool. I would name my first born Maxon, though it might be a little strange if it was a girl. Besides the name, though, he has an awesome personality. Maxon barely ever got truly made at America, though she did some pretty stupid things (I hope in the next two coming books in this series that America makes less stupid and rash mistakes). Maxon was always there when America was sad or angry, unless of course America was mad at him. Maxon was funny at times, generous, sweet, and except for that last burst of anger towards America at the end of the One, Maxon always kept his cool with her, which is one of his best qualities.

5)Daemon Black from the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Daemon. Daemon. DAEMON. Who in this world doesn't love to hate to love him! Sure Daemon is... oh, how to I put this nicely... not nicest person in the world, but most of the time, he's just acting that way because he doesn't want to but himself or his sister in danger, which is so protective I can't even. Daemon tries to be nice and protective and sweet to Katy, but their first encounter made her take it as sarcasm or wondering why he even cares, although at the same time she was totally falling for him like the rest of the girls in the world that liked this book. Daemon was funny and sarcastic and... I CAN'T EVEN! If I haven't said this already, if I write "I can't even," it's because I just cannot put my feelings into words for a book or character, which is a great thing because I just love the thing so much I can't articulate my feelings into words.

4) Fade from Enclave by Ann Aguirre
Fade is just amazing. Fade was so nice and caring and concerned for Deuce. And when he was battling PTSD in the third book (it's not entirely a secret), he wanted to get over it for Deuce. When Fade had PTSD, he couldn't touch anyone or be touched without his mind going back to what happened, but he was able to fight it, which made him so strong, not only physically, but mentally. Fade might have said that he was broken, but he isn't. It's not like Fade got over the trauma in a snap, it did take time, which I appreciate the author doing. Fade was also concerned about Deuce's foster parents that she gets in the second book and their wishes for her, not only his. Fade was just so amazing, I would read the whole series over again just because of him (Stalker, too, but much more so because of Fade).

3) Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan
I love Percy. He is just so funny and sarcastic, but can be really serious, smart, reliable and a lot of other different positive adjectives. Rick Riordan did such a good job developing this character. As Percy got older, we didn't lose all of the stuff we loved about him, but only gained more things to love. Though I didn't finish the Mark of Athena and haven't continued on from that point, I still love Percy. I think I didn't continue because I love Percy's voice too much that the other ones were boring. Just, Percy for life!

2) Will Herondale from the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
This list would not be complete without Will Herondale in it somewhere. Cassandra Clare, I think, crafted the best love triangle of all history in the Infernal Devices. One second, you are completely convinced that Will is the one for Tessa, and then you change your mind to Jem. Although I absolutely love Jem, it's kind of cheating to have them both on the list, so of course I am going to pick Will. I am like Tessa in so many ways that it would definitely work out. And Will reads! How awesome is that?

1) Liam Stewart form the Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Of course Liam is going to be number one! As you all probably know if you read my Darkest Minds spoiler review, then you know why I love Liam. Liam is just the combination of everything I've ever wanted and more in a little bundle. He's smart, funny, sarcastic, kind, caring, brave, protective, tries so hard to be a great provider and someone Zu can look up to. Liam is just amazing and everything I could ever want ever and it's probably bad that I love him so much because he's fictional and there probably isn't someone out there, but if there is, I would marry him (this includes having the super power of telekinesis. Which I consider the best super power ever).

There it is! Of course I have loved others in many other books, but these are definitely my top ten right now. This list was surprisingly easy to come up with, though. I think Liam will always hold the number one spot. SO BACK OFF!!! Kidding... not.

If you would like to leave your lists in the comments so that we can gush about these fictional men, go ahead because I would love to see who is one your list!

  1. Peseta! Will! Great choices! :). Although, you know, I was always a bit of a Jem girl myself. :)

    1. I always feel like Jem is the practical decision, but there's just something about Will.

I checked out your blog and thought it was awesome! I think we started blogging around the same time, so I can't wait to see how your blog grows!
