Also make sure to check the twitter @Read_Endof2015 use the #Endof2015Readathon for sprints and other fun activities.

Now, down to the today's challenge...

Challenge #6

Now, I'm sure all of our reading years have been fantastic filled with books that completely blew our minds, but there has to be at least one book that you've read this year that you thought was the worst thing you've ever read (or maybe not that extreme). So, today's challenge is to talk about your Least Favorite Books of 2015.

I didn't necessarily hate this book, but We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. The end completely blew my mind and I couldn't think straight for a couple of days, but the rest of the book was kind of meh for me. I think that was the only book that really didn't do it for me this year.

Now it's your job to post or tweet about your least favorite books of 2015. Make sure to leave a comment below linking to your post.

I hope ya'll are getting some last minute reading in and I can't wait to see all of the wrap ups tomorrow!

Happy reading,
Jayne

It's been a while and I hope to get back into the swing of blogging in the new year.

The TBR and Unread Books Tag

Sorry I didn't post last week. I've been buried under a mountain of homework with a cold. Anyway, today I bring to you the TBR and Unread Books Tag orignally created by Danni Darling and I was tagged by Sarah @YA Bookaholic back in May so...

1. How many unread and read books do you have?

Read: 42 (not counting the family bookshelf)
Unread (24 also not counting the family bookshelf)
*Please keep in mind that I recently started collecting books and I plan on both categories getting VERY big

2. The book that has sat the longest on your shelves?

Out of my read books, Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins box sets. I got them at the same time.
Out of my unread books, Stormchasers by Jenna Blum.

3. Number one book on your TBR that you want to read but haven't gotten around to yet?

It's a tie between The Help by Kathryn Stockett and We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.

4. A book you want to rad more than anything, but don't own yet?

Hands down, Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout and the fourth book of The Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole. I loved the first few books in both of these series and I CANNOT wait to get my hands on either of them.

5. A book you don't remember buying but haven't read yet?

I don't have an answer for this one because I remember where each and everyone of my books came from.

6. A book you have that you don't think you'll get around to reading but haven't gotten rid of yet?

Probably Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. I started reading it one year for English class, hated it and did not finish. I had to use notes online for my project. I like to give every book a second chance, but I'm not so sure about this one.

7. A book you feel guilty about not reading yet?

The Help, most likely. I was in a time crunch during my first attempt and I started to enjoy it, but didn't have enough time to finish it, so I just never have.

8. A book series you've heard about non-stop, but have no interest in reading?

I talked about these two in the Unpopular Opinions Book Tag, so if you read that post, I'm sure you know what I'm about to say. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon  and A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

I'm sure everyone and their mother has already done this tag, so I will not be tagging anyone. I hope you enjoyed and I will see ya'll soon with another post!

Versatile Blogger Award 2015

So sorry I haven't been posting lately, I just haven't really had anything I wanted to post and I have not read a lot lately. I have been writing, though, so that's good. Anyway, I come to you with another post!

Thank you so much Sarah @ YA Bookaholic for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award!

This is what I have to do:

  1. Nominate 15 bloggers which are relatively new to blogging. (*Sorry, but there probably will not be 15*)
  2. Let these bloggers know that you have nominated them
  3. Tell 10 random facts about yourself
  4. Thank the blogger who nominated you (THANKS SARAH)
  5. Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your post
Facts that are Random
You all probably know a few of these if you read the Behind the Blogger post that I did sort of recently and failed to come up with 50 facts about myself! I'll try to come up with some new ones, though.

  1. I have a heart condition. It kept me from playing around and doing a bunch of things a normal kid would do when I was little. It was hard, but I'm better now, so it's all good.
  2. When I was two, I tripped and knocked out one of my front teeth, so I didn't have one of my front teeth until I was in kindergarten. I was adorable, just saying. At one point, I didn't have either front of my teeth and it was near Christmas. I didn't stop singing "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth."
  3. I really like to cook and bake, but I hate to clean up from it. If I made dinner, I shouldn't have to clean it up, right?
  4. I LOVE the Walking Dead. It's an amazing show. Yes, it has zombies in it, but it's not about the zombies, it's about the people trying to survive and zombies show up sometimes. If zombies bother you, I would still suggest trying to watch the show, because it is great. And Daryl is the best. My mom was even afraid of zombies I got her to become a hardcore fan of the show.
  5. I am an actress. I've done a few theater productions and they were fun, but I really want to get into film because I think I would like that better.
  6. My biggest dream is to study abroad in Britain. I've wanted to travel to Britain for a very long time and I think it would be a wonderful experience considering I've never been overseas once.
  7. When I was little, I was touring a battleship with my family and there was this vent that went three stories down and I thought it was a good idea to point at it with my foot and my flip flop fell into it. My brother and my dad looked all over the ship for it and couldn't find it. So I walked around the rest of the battleship with only one shoe.
  8. I have never watched anything on Netflix. I don't have Netflix, so I've never used it.
  9. I almost died via tornado when I was a child. My mom was driving my brother and I back home from the store. There was a really bad storm, so my mom was driving very fast, trying to  get home. So we were speeding down the road when, on the radio, comes a tornado warning. A tornado had touched down and they said it was traveling down my street, so my mom decided to take the quick way home because we were concerned about the house and the tornado would be gone by time we got there. So, my mom was driving faster and we turned onto our street and there was the tornado. My mom put the car in reverse and drove away. We waited a few minutes before we went back and the entire neighborhood was untouched. Just the cornfield across from my house was destroyed.
  10. I think the future will be better than the present. Right now, my life is kind of crazy and nonstop and sad some of the time. I often think that as time goes on, it will get better and life will be more fun. (Wow, way to be deep, Jayne)

Nominations
(sorry, but there probably won't be fifteen)

There we go! I hope you found my facts interesting comment below with the weirdest fact about you so we can all be strange together! I will *hopefully* be posting soon!

It's the End of 2014 Read-A-Thon Day 7

It's already a week into the read-a-thon! Wow, time flies. I am today's host so if you would like to enter into today's game, just put your link in the comments below or tweet @booking_awesome with the #Endof2014Read.

Today's game is... Tell Me A Story... Use book titles and author names to write a little story.

This one is really hard, but here is my attempt:

Jack's Run home felt like the longest run in history. He crashed through the kitchen door and into his mother's unexpecting arms. "Jack, honey, what's wrong?" She asked as tears streamed down his face.
"The kids down near Monument 14 told be to go swimming in an Infinite Sea so I'll never come back!"
"Kids have the Darkest Minds, don't they?" Jack nodded. Jack's mother knew that the move was difficult for him and that he has felt like he was all alone, didn't even fit in with The Outsiders. Jack's mother felt like The One cause for his troubles.
"Then I told them," Jack began, "To try Catching Fire so they will all burn!"
"Jack, that was not the right thing to do, although it may look like it is At First Sight. You have to make sure that your knowledge of right and wrong Never Fade when the other kids treat you like that. In the Afterlight, the only thing that will be matter is if you are who want to be, right?"
"Right." Then Jack ran off to the Safe Haven of his room and his mother went back to making dinner not knowing she provided The Rescue that Jack needed.

It's not the best story, but it doesn't have to be top quality, does it? Make sure to enter into the game today and I will have some honorable mentions tomorrow!

It's the End of 2014 Read-A-Thon Day 6

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! (You know, if that's your thing) AND WE MADE IT TO THE HALF WAY POINT! Today our host is Sarah at YA Bookaholic. If you want to enter today's game, just comment your name and URL to submission after clicking on the above link. You can also enter if you tweet @Read_Endof2014!

Today's game is entitled Winter Wonderland and all you have to do is create a Wintery scene with either natural materials or things inside that are associate with the season showcasing the book you are currently reading. This one sounds like fun!

Since I haven't yet opened up my Christmas presents, there will not be a picture right now, but when all of the presents have been opened and I decide which one to read, I will have a nice wintery picture for you guys!

Reading Update: I didn't read anything yesterday because I had to finish some Christmas presents and I am really sick now, so I had only gotten two hours of a good, quality sleep the night before so I spend a lot of yesterday sleeping and being super sick. It was not fun. I feel a little better today, just a little. I might read some today, I don't know. I may just sleep. It kind of sucks that I am spending my Christmas break being sick, but there is still a week left, so maybe I won't be sick for the whole break. I'M BEING OPTIMISTIC. Optimism is always good.

I hope your read-a-thon is going better than mine and you have read tons of books! Let me know your progress and I will see you all tomorrow with another post!

It's the End of 2014 Read-A-Thon Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the read-a-thon and I hope your reading is doing awesome. Today, our host is Once Upon a Time over at Once Upon A Time A Review, so if you are interested in entering in today's game, click on the link and and comment your name and URL.

Today our game is Movie Marathon. What you have to do is list your top 5 books that you think would make awesome movies and why. (How weird... we're asking you to make a top 5 list on day 5...hmm...)

It is so hard for me to create a list of books I want turned into movies because sometimes I feel like movies do not do the books justice, so I'm doing television shows too because I can!

  1. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michele Hodkin would make an awesome television show because, if the writers are really talented, then they can leave every episode on a cliffhanger to make the audience come back. And the first season could end where that thing with Noah and Joseph happens (if you've read the book you know what I'm talking about) or the end of the actual book which would be a great season finale for any television show.
  2. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken, I think, would translate fantastically through film or television and I tend to lead towards film on this one because there are some things that could be taken out and I would totally fine with and I would be okay if some things were altered a bit and I think the action would make a really good film. I also think that there isn't too much to explain, so that would be fine in a movie. But, this book would do just fine as a television show as well.
  3. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Yes I know that this is already a movie, but it's not a good movie. It needs redone to be more true to the book. It was like the writers just decided to use the same names and basic basic premise and then write a whole new story. I think (and this is not popular opinion) that the movie by itself is okay, but as a book to movie adaptation, it is utterly horrible. It needs to be remade by different people.
  4. The Restoration Series by Terri Blackstock. This is a sort of a post-apocalyptic series about an EMP crippling America who knows where else. This series does deal with religion, so I think it would be a great movie to make people think. I also think that the action/events would create a very suspenseful movie. This series would also make a great television show.
  5. Enclave by Ann Aguirre would make an excellent movie or television show because of the weird society and the captivating characters would really draw an audience in. The world is just so interesting and I think it would be great to see it come to life.
That all for today and remember, if you would like to enter, click on the link to Once Upon A Time's blog and type your name and the link to your post of video in the comments of her post.

It's the End of 2014 Read-A-Thon Day 4

It's Day 4!!!!!!!!!! Today's host is Charlotte over at Bookmarks and Blogging so go check out her blog. If you would like to enter in today's game, just post click on the link above and comment your name and URL to your submission.

Today's game is called Psychic Or Not is to try to predict what will happen next in the book your are currently reading.

Since I am rereading a book currently, I am not going to predict anything since I know what is going to happen. I don't want to spoil anyone!

My read-a-thon hasn't been going too well. I haven't finished my first book yet which I started before the read-a-thon even began and I've been sick since day one. There are still eight days left, so hopefully things pick up. I'm almost done with The 5th Wave and I am going to try to finish it today. Let me know how your read-a-thon is going so far, hopefully it's going better than mine!

Across Blogs

Hello, fancy seeing you here. (I know I've used that joke before, just don't think about it).
I just wanted to let you all know about this cool new thing I'm doing with Sarah from YA Bookaholic. It's this fancy little thing called Across Blogs. (Cool name, huh?)
This is how Across Blogs works:
Sarah and I will be reading a book together and then we will discuss it in detail on both of our blogs. What Sarah an I will be reading this month is... THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY!
Here's the schedule:
WEEK ONE: We will be reading the Hunger Games
WEEK TWO: We will read Catching Fire
WEEK THREE: We will read Mockingjay
WEEK FOUR: We will discuss the series by each book and then the series as a whole while picking different topics and themes we want to delve deeper into.

I hope you all enjoy reading the upcoming posts as much as Sarah and I have enjoyed coming up with this, so please stay tuned for more information.

And by the way, we will be taking suggestions for books you want us to read in future Across Blogs discussions, so please recommend some books or series down below!
